Heights Drive In

The "lunch gang" at my former employer had a little disagreement as to which restaurant offered the best fried noodles. One guy said the Heights Drive In in the Aiea Medical Building has the best fried noodles. At the time I had never tried their fried noodles, but when he brought some in one day, I had to agree that it was really, really good and definitely some of the best fried noodles I've ever tasted.

Because we have doctors in the Aiea Medical Building, we always try to schedule our appointments around lunch or dinner so we can pick up the Boneless Chicken and Fried Noodles special.

I think for $7.50 it's a steal, and EVERYTHING, including the mac salad, is delicious (DH thinks they have the best mac salad). And they sure give A LOT of food! Underneath all of that chicken is a A LOT of fried noodles. I can never finish the plate. Well, I actually did finish it once, when I was pregnant...I ate the entire plate...

Heights Drive In offers a lot of other plate lunches (a long, long time ago I did try their chicken katsu, but I don't remember enjoying it all that much), so if you're in the area or you're craving really good fried noodles, check them out!

  2. I agree - it's one of the best places for fried saimin. I also like the fried saimin at Jane's Fountain on Liliha Street - it's a landmark saimin stand - one of the few left on the island.

  3. We just went to the Heights today - John got the "Super Combo" which comes with teri beef, chicken, hamburger steak, and spare ribs - he ate the whole thing!

I got the fried noodles/teri chicken combo plate and ate everything except for the mac salad (I never eat mac salad).

I think your DH likes the mac salad because they put a lot of mayo in it (my friend commented about how it's loaded with mayo).
