Roy's Restaurant - Hawaii Kai

Ask any local where to go for fine dining on Oahu, and Roy's Restaurant will always be recommended. They have 3 locations on Oahu - Hawaii Kai, Waikiki, and Ko'olina. Their Hawaii Kai location has the nicest view, since it overlooks Maunalua Bay and Koko Head.

Diners have the option of sitting downstairs (inside or outside) or upstairs.

We prefer to dine downstairs. No reservations are accepted for the downstairs area, however, if you go early enough you can usually find a table. The setting is more casual and it's not as noisy as the upstairs dining room. The live music also makes the downstairs lounge area the preferred dining area for many of their regulars.

Soon after we are seated, we are given a complimentary bowl of lightly seasoned edamame (soy beans).

Appetizer: linguine with pesto and shrimp

The Canoe for Two appetizer - shrimp cocktail, baby back ribs, spicy tuna rolls, spring rolls, and crab cakes

Jade Pesto Steamed Opah

The Surfer Platter (starting from the upper left hand corner moving clockwise) - macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, misoyaki butterfish, jade pesto steamed opah, furikake musubi - the perfect entree for fish-lovers.

Roy's famous chocolate souffle served with vanilla bean ice cream. Order when your entree arrives since it takes at least 30 minutes to prepare.

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or on your way back to town from Sandy Beach at sunset, stop by Roy's in Hawaii Kai - it's the perfect way to end the day.
