If you're in Kaneohe and craving a good bowl of ramen or curry, you don't have a lot of places to choose from. There are two ramen restaurants that I know of, one is in Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center (across from Windward Mall), and one is in Windward City Shopping Center (off of Like Like Highway). Since Sumo Ramen is a closer drive for me, I chose to go there first. It is located near Safeway and L&L Drive Inn.
You have the option of dining at a table, or at the counter. The service is quick and friendly.
Here is a picture of a side order of tofu. They give a generous amount of tofu for $3.95.
The chicken katsu curry comes big portions of chicken katsu, curry, and white rice, all for $6.95. You could definitely eat half and take the other half home for the next day's lunch.
They have many combinations to choose from, if you are hungry for more than just ramen. I decided to order the mochiko chicken ramen combo which came with a small bowl of shoyu ramen and 4 pieces of mochiko chicken,
4 pieces of gyoza,
and fried rice for $8.50.
Sumo Ramen & Curry is not the place to go if you're looking for authentic japanese ramen and curry, but it's a good place to go if you've a big appetite and a craving for noodles, curry, or gyoza. Take it out is also available.
