Shakey's

I've read that Shakey's was in Hawaii a long time ago (but I don't even remember Shakey's at all), so when it opened up in Waipahu, DH and I couldn't wait to try it out.

Most of the staff members were friendly, and everything is pretty much "self-serve"--you simply put in your order, you're given a key to place in a key call (table locator system), then you find a table, and insert your key, and just wait for the food to come!

We ended up getting the Large Classic Family Meal Deal (there were 4 adults, 2 kids) for $37.99 which included a large 1 topping pizza, 8 pieces of chicken, and Mojos (I had no idea what mojos were until @nanigurl told me what they were).

We got a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was good!

The chicken and mojos came on a single platter.
The chicken came in all different sizes, and it was good too. Crispy skin, moist meat. YUM!

The mojos were great--they were DS2's favorite!

Everything was really good, and there were a lot of leftovers.

After dinner, the boys went into the arcade.

One thing we did that we will be sure not to do again the next time we go to Shakey's is sit in a booth where the arcade is in view. Once DS1 saw the arcade he did not want to eat dinner. All he wanted to do was play in the arcade! Although a lot of the games were "out of order," DS1 still had a blast!

I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon for more pizza and more games!

  1. Sounds good. I must admit I'm very partial to Pizza Hut :)

  2. I went to Shakeys on Keeaumoku. Loved watching them making the pizza, tossing it into the air, etc. They also featured a banjo player. Now, of course, the restaurant is gone.
