Aloha Beer Company

We recently went to Aloha Beer Company with a group of friends to celebrate DH's birthday.

Since we dined on an evening when UH was playing football, Happy Hour was all throughout the game (normally Happy Hour is 4:00pm-6:30pm; there was also live entertainment that night).

The menu is pupu-style, and our group ordered the following (I didn't try all of the dishes, but if I did try a dish I noted what I thought of it below):

Complimentary furikake-seasoned won-ton chips. A little on the salty side (perhaps to make you want to drink more beer?), but love the overall flavor - can be quite addicting.

Beer Sampler

Aloha Beer Beef Nachos - I like that it was generously loaded with toppings, but I think there were too little chips.
Yakisoba - good and tasty.

Chicken Karaage - nice and crispy on the outside (not tough like how other places' chicken karaage can be), and tender on the inside.
Teri Chicken Quesadilla - really good (I want to try and make these at home!).  One of my three favorite dishes.
Char Siu Fried Rice - another favorite dish of mine.  The fried rice was really tasty, and it seemed to be the most popular dish of the night.
Grilled Garlic Pepper Pork Chops
Kalbi Beef Shortribs
NY Steak with Finadene Sauce
Hot Apple Cobbler Ala Mode - really good.
Wahiawa Pineapple Cheesecake - my most favorite dish of the night.  It was SOOOOOO DELICIOUS!!! We ordered two cheesecakes and two cobblers so our table could share, but I really wish I had a piece of cheesecake all to myself!
Overall I really liked Aloha Beer Company.

When I called to make our reservation, the gentleman who answered asked if I needed any high chairs or if we wanted to sit near the stage if there was live entertainment.  I really thought it was great that he asked about our seating preference, since we opted to sit further away from the stage so we could hear each other speak (although it was still a bit hard since the music was pretty loud, but we really didn't mind, since most of our group was tuned into the TVs to watch football and baseball).

The food was really good, service was great (our server, Brandon, was friendly and efficient), and the ambiance was perfect for the occasion.

Aloha Beer Company has lots of seating, lots of flat panel TVs, and it's great for pau hana drinks or simply to hang out with friends and watch a game.

DH sure had a great birthday!
