Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

After finding myself with some overripe bananas, I decided to try and make something other than the usual banana bread or muffins.  After a quick search, I decided to make Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies - a recipe I found on Allrecipes.com.

They turned out soft, chewy, and delicious!  I'll definitely be making these again the next time I find myself with some overripe bananas.

  • 2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 2/3 c butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 1 c mashed bananas (I used 3 medium-sized bananas)
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together; set aside.
  • Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix in the mashed bananas.
  • Add the flour mixture, and stir until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased or parchment-lined cookie sheets.
  • Bake in preheated oven for approximately 12 minutes.
