Hawaiian Airlines - Travel to Portland

Last month we flew on Hawaiian Airlines (HA) to Portland and back.

Both ways we flew on the A330, which I love because of the onboard power (so we can charge our smartphones) and the interactive entertainment system.

Thank goodness for the in-flight entertainment system!

Service from check-in to arrival on both legs were great.

As for dining, we were served a Pau Hana Snack Mix prior to the complimentary meals.  To Portland we were served the following: Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Manapua with Garlic, Ginger & Peas; Salad; Hawaiian Host Macadamia Nut Chocolate; Water Cuplet.  Complimentary wine is also offered.

I thought the Manapua was pretty good, although two of my kids just picked at the bun.

On the return we were served the following: Cavatappi (Corkscrew) Pasta with Mushroom Cream Sauce & Sauteed Spinach; Salad; Punalu`u Shortbread Cookie.

Complimentary wine was once again offered.

Cavatappi Pasta with Mushroom Cream Sauce and Sautéed Spinach
The meal did not look appetizing at all, and at first I just thought it was a pile of spinach atop some pasta.  But after mixing everything up, I discovered some tiny pieces of mushrooms, and after sprinkling a little salt on it, the dish turned out to be rather tasty!

And all of my kids loved the pasta - once I took out all of the spinach.

Overall our flights went really well.  We departed on-time and arrived early for both flights, the service was great, and the I love that HA still serves meals.

I'm sure it won't be long until I'm on another HA flight!
