A good friend of mine recently flew to Kauai for a day to play league tennis, and she brought back a box of uncooked saimin and a Lilikoi Chiffon Pie, two of their signature items.
The box of saimin contained 12 pre-portioned bundles of freshly made uncooked saimin. The great thing about saimin is that you can freeze it for consumption at a later time.
To prepare the saimin, all you have to do is boil the noodles, make the broth (I use S&S packaged dashi), add your own garnishes, and viola - it's almost as good as eating at their restaurant in Kauai.
The Lilikoi Chiffon surprisingly survived the flight unscathed.
The chiffon is so light and airy, it melts in your mouth once it hits your tongue. The crust is flaky without a hint of sogginess.
