Synopsis: Sex Tape stars Jason
Segel and Cameron Diaz as married couple Jay and Annie who are still very much
in love, but ten years and two kids have cooled the passion. To get it
back, they decide – why not? – to make a video of themselves trying out every
position in THE JOY OF SEX in one marathon three-hour session.
It seems like a great idea, until they discover that their most private video
has gone public. In a panic, they begin a wild night of adventure –
tracking down leads, roping in friends, duping Annie’s boss – all to reclaim
their video, their reputation, their sanity, and, most importantly, their
marriage.
3 Things I Learned
From the Movie Sex Tape.
Number 1: Cameron Diaz has a great butt. Seriously.
And you’ll see it several times in the movie, along with Jason Segel’s. At age 41, Diaz looks amazing. Which makes me kind of hate her. I do keep in mind that if she really was a
mom of 2 then after the pregnancies, births, and breastfeeding, she (and her
body) wouldn’t be so perky. But, I could
be wrong. And how can anyone hate
someone as cool as Cameron Diaz anyway?
Number 2: Cause for intimacy. After a full day’s work, commuting,
transporting, homework, dinner, dishes, and baths, it’s understandable the last
thing on an exhausted parent’s mind would be sex. With Jay and Annie, they’ve scheduled a night
of passion but have some trouble reigniting their desire and look to a sex tape
to spice things up. In the end, Sex Tape
tries to convey the message that it is important for couples to realize why they
made the commitment in the first place.
While a sex tape could be that spice your love life needs, it’s only a
quick fix and distracts from bigger problems – like forgetting what you love
about your partner.
Number 3: It’s okay to high five your partner in bed. After all, you are a team. For me, this was one of the funniest moments in
the movie. Segel and Diaz have such
awesome comedic chemistry. If you are
looking for a not over-the-top raunchy movie that won’t make you do any
thinking, Sex Tape is for you and will keep you laughing from start to finish.
Sex Tape opens July
18.
