Visit Oahu: Chief's Luau

Chief's Luau, led by Chief Sielu Avea, is set on the grounds of Sea Life Park.

Upon arrival we participated in some of the activities, which included tattoo art, spear throwing, fire-making, and more.

Before dinner Chief Sielu spoke about the Hawaiian Imu, in which a pig had been cooking, and was eventually unveiled.

I thought the food was great (you can click here for the menu; my faves were the Chicken Yakitori with Teriyaki Sauce and Kalua Pork), and although the Pineapple Cake was delicious, I wish there were more dessert options!

The Chief's Journey Through the Polynesian Islands Show was my favorite part of the luau.

We watched a number of performances representing the different Polynesian islands (you can watch a quick video of one of the performances on our Facebook page here).

I thought it was hilarious when guests were brought on stage to dance.  Chief Sielu really knows how to work the crowd.

The fireknife dancers were amazing (you can view a video of the dancers from my Instagram account here).

Our family had a wonderful time at Chief's Luau.

I personally thought Chief Sielu stole the show.  Not only is he a great performer, musician, and fireknife dancer, but he is quite the comedian.  Although his humor is intended for adults, he was extremely funny and all night I heard laughs from the audience.

A gorgeous setting, fun activities, great food, and a very entertaining show - what more could you want from a luau?
