Banana Chocolate Bars (recipe credit Taste of Home):
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c butter, softened
- 1 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 t vanilla extract
- 3 bananas, mashed
- 1-1/2 c flour
- 1 t baking powder
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 c baking cocoa
Directions:
- Spray 9x13 in baking pan with cooking/baking spray.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Mix in the bananas.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and combine well.
- Divide batter in half.
- Add cocoa to half of mixture; mix well and spread into bottom of pan.
- Pour remaining batter on top and spread evenly.
- Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack.
