Although it was the 10th annual Kids Fest, this was my (and Nat's) very first Kids Fest, so we were lucky to get exclusive access to some of the booths prior to the start of Kids Fest, and we even met with Dr. Spencer Chang, one of the co-chairs of this family event.
If I had to use one word to describe the event, it would simply be IMPRESSIVE.
Held on the grounds of the Bishop Museum, this annual event attracts hundreds of families who attend for FREE.
At this free community event, families learn all about health and wellness through a variety of interactive booths, and kids can participate in all sorts of fun activities, such as obstacle courses, Keiki Zumba, a Teddy Bear Clinic, nutrition games, and so much more.
Snacks are also provided (while supplies last), which included options such as ice cream, shave ice, pizza, fruit cups, chili, and spring rolls. Water bottles were also offered, and there were several water stations throughout the grounds.
Admission to Bishop Museum was also free that day for Hawaii residents and military families with ID.
The Tweet-Up started an hour before the official event start time, but when our family arrived there was already a long line of people waiting to enter the grounds.
Even an hour into the actual event, people were still lining up to enter. I had no idea how popular Kids Fest is.
But now I know.
And I also now know what a great event it is for families. It was obvious how hard all of the organizers, sponsors, volunteers - everyone involved - worked to put on such an impressive event for Hawaii's families.
Thank you to Hawaii Pacific Health and Dr. Spencer Chang for spending time with us and for the opportunity to enjoy such a great event!
