Visit Lanai: My Family's Stay at the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, The Lodge at Koele

We're so lucky to live in Hawaii.  While I love to travel, I have to remind myself to stay back and enjoy the islands.  Lana'i is my favorite.  I love that there are two very different climates in Lana'i and only separated by a 20 minute drive.  You will find warm, sunny beaches at the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay.  It's a beautiful ocean-side luxury resort and home to the world class Japanese restaurant, Nobu Lanai.  Just past Lana'i City you will find the much cooler (in temperature) Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, the Lodge at Koele, a gorgeous resort with lush and spectacular gardens and stunning countryside views.

I found a great deal for three nights at the Lodge that included breakfast for 2 and kids under 4 eat free at all dining outlets when accompanied by a paying adult.  The private island is pretty small, so it doesn't make much sense to rent a car.  You can make arrangements for shuttle or car service through the hotel.  We arrived via our favorite airline, Hawaiian Airlines' newest turboprop operation, 'Ohana by Hawaiian.

As soon as we got out of the car, my entire family was greeted with leis and complimentary juice.  They even made sure my little ones had their juice in kid friendly cups.  Niceties like these are really appreciated by this Mom.  The aloha didn't stop there.  In our room, we found milk and cookies for the kids and some delicious goodies for the adults.  The kids also received stuffed horses as well as their names spelt out in sponge letters.  The kids were beyond excited with their gifts.

During our three night stay, we did a lot.  My daughter and I enjoyed Afternoon Tea in the Great Hall and the entire family had fun walking the grounds, playing at the pool, and also visiting Manele Bay.  We also had lots of fun exploring Lana'i City.  We enjoyed dinners at the Terrace as well as Nobu Lana'i.  It was the most relaxing vacation we had all year and we really enjoyed it.

Our family was greeted with leis.

The hotel is beautiful and a wonderful setting for Afternoon Tea.

The front lawn is grand, perfect for cricket and cartwheels.

There is a pond and a pagoda on the grounds.

Cade is taking a break to enjoy the resort.

You must visit the gorgeous Orchid House.

The kids enjoyed trying out cricket.

The pool is heated at the Lodge, but the kids still enjoyed the jacuzzi.

There are lots of amenities to be enjoyed at the pool.

We took the shuttle to visit Manele Bay.  Breathtaking.

The kids enjoyed watching the waves and playing in the sand.

We found a playground in Lana'i City!
