Visit Phoenix: Adobe Style Accommodations at The Wigwam

Our family recently stayed at The Wigwam in Arizona, a beautiful resort spanning over 440 acres that recently celebrated its 85th anniversary.

Rich in history, The Wigwam has steadily grown from a guest ranch accommodating 24 guests to a resort with 331 Adobe-style casitas and suites, 3 championship golf courses, 4 pools, a luxury spa, and acclaimed dining venues.

There are three different collections of accommodations that The Wigwam offers - The Adobe Collection, The Oasis Collection (more private, near the pools), and The Fairway Collection (near The Patriotic Golf Course).

Our Adobe Collection 2 Queen Beds Suite may have looked simple and even a bit dated from the outside, but once we stepped inside I was impressed with all of the modern furnishings and upgraded features.

In the bedroom was a flat screen TV, tee pee (available for a fee), as well as a large walk-in closet.

The beds were super comfy, and my kids loved sleeping in the tee pee (my oldest slept in there every night!).

The living room was spacious, with a sleeper sofa, chair, coffee table, work desk, and a flat screen TV.

The bathroom was large with double sinks (I loved that there were under-sink hand towel holders at a height perfect for the kids) and a stand up shower.

The bedroom led to a patio and beautiful landscaped lawn where my kids would often run around. There was also an orange tree right next to our room (which inspired my middle son to make fresh orange juice!).

Although there was no microwave (the resort does offer them for a fee), inside the room there was a refrigerator, coffee maker, plenty of reading material, and lots of outlets to charge our electronics.

Gilchrist Soames amenities were available for use (mending kit, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.), and the resort also offers other complimentary amenities upon request, such as toothpaste, razors, and emery boards).

We received complimentary chocolates and bottled water at turn down service, and larger bottles of water and snacks are available in the room for purchase.

The Wigwam has a "Go Green, Save Green" promotion in which if you decline daily housekeeping service, you can get a  $5 resort dining voucher!

Our room was very close to the lobby, and because of that, we often could hear a lot of other guests walking past and talking.  However, the location was ideal, because we were just a short walk to the pool, dining venues, and even one of the parking lots.

Other than a few guests talking as they passed our room, we could not hear the guests in the next room very much, and our building was one level, which meant no worrying about noise coming from upstairs.

Our suite was ideal - spacious, comfortable, and clean, and a part of such a beautiful and historic resort.

Whether you're away on business, vacationing with family, or attending a special event at the resort or in the area, The Wigwam offers a variety of guest rooms and suites to suit your needs.

Thank you to The Wigwam for offering complimentary and media rates for our stay, as well as hosting the tee pee.  Gratuities were paid on our own.
