People often scratch their heads when I tell them that one of my favorite places to get a poke bowl or donburi is in Chinatown. Two Japanese brothers recently opened shop in a stall in Kekaulike Marketplace and while they may appear to be a "fish out of water" so to speak, they are becoming one of Chinatown's best kept secrets.

I consider them a "secret" because unless you are active on social media or shop in Kekaulike Market, you would not know of their existence. As far as I know, they do not advertise, so their existence is only by way of word of mouth.

Their fish is fresh and of very good quality. My favorites: the chutoro donburi (medium fatty tuna over sushi rice) and the king salmon donburi (salmon sashimi over sushi rice).

They have a few tables and chairs which is great since you usually want to consume raw fish right on spot to avoid spoilage. The owners will provide water and they deliver your order to your table. They also help you clear your table. You won't find service like this at any other vendor in Kekaulike Market!
