Along the secluded eastern coast of Maui lies a hidden gem, tucked away in the quiet town of Hāna. The
Hāna Ranch Farm Stand recently opened for business at the historic Hāna Ranch, offering a locally-grown variety of seasonal organic fruits and vegetables.
"We're thrilled to introduce visitors and locals in Hāna to our produce, grown right here at Hāna Ranch," said Morgan Maki, operations manager of Hāna Ranch. "The new Hāna Ranch Farm Stand will offer travelers an easy way to experience the fresh local eats Hāna has to offer."
The Hāna Ranch Farm Stand is located half a mile south of Hāna on the Hāna Highway and is now open Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Offerings vary depending on the season, however a snapshot of current produce available includes bananas, lettuces, spring onions, bok choy, lemons, sweet potatoes, parsley and Hawai'i's traditional cultural staple, taro. All of the produce offered at the farm stand is grown at the Hāna Ranch farm, which includes 12 acres of farm land maintained by employees who live and work in Hāna, Maui.
Hāna Ranch, a mainstay in the tight-knit Hāna community, recently received California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) certification. All produce at Hāna Ranch is grown according to standards set by the USDA National Organic Program without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or genetically modified seeds.
