Restaurant Kuni

Restaurant Kuni has been one of my favorite Japanese restaurants ever since I was a little kid.  I think they have some of the best chicken katsu on the island!

Clockwise from top right: Miso Soup, Moyashi, Tsukemono, Salad

I had a small saimin, and for just under $4, I thought it was a decent size, and it was very good.  The saimin also came with a salad and tsukemono.

My husband had a two choice teishoku, which consisted of tuskemono, moyashi, miso soup, and salad.  His two choices were the Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teri.  He ate everything up!

The keiki plate comes in two sizes - mini and regular.  We opted to get all my kids regular plates so I could eat some of their katsu since I only ordered a small saimin.

Keiki meals come with an orange slice, miso soup, macaroni salad, French fries, and a drink. Two of my kids had Chicken Katsu, and one had Beef Teri. With my and my husband's help, they finished lunch with near-empty plates.

The food came out fairly quickly, and everything was delicious, but service from our server was just okay.  Fortunately other servers in the restaurant who assisted us were very pleasant.

Despite the not-so-stellar service, I still consider Kuni's one of my favorite Japanese restaurants.
