Hawaii Mom Bloggers Gem, Nadia, and I were planning to meet up for brunch, and originally we were also planning to do a cookie exchange since the three of us are rarely get together due to our busy schedules as mothers and rulers of our households. Well, while brunch was still going to go on as planned, the cookie exchange idea was taken off the agenda, but I told the girls that I would still bake something for them since this was such a special occasion, and they are special people!**
The pressure was on to find a good recipe. Nadia and Gem are excellent and experienced home bakers, and so I didn't want to let them down. I searched the web for recipes that 1) contained few ingredients (since that's how I roll, or should I say that's how I "bake"), 2) had a high average star rating, and 3) had a lot of positive comments.
I found a recipe called "World's Best Butter Cookies" that piqued my interest. I loved that I had all of the ingredients on hand (it calls for ingredients that most of us amateur bakers should have on hand at all times), and total time for prep and cook was under an hour. It showed an average star rating of 5, and there were 157 comments posted. The cookies turned out great - very buttery, with a short-bread cookie-like consistency.
