A Few of the Culinary Creations at the 13th Annual Waikiki SPAM JAM

Last night the 13th Annual Waikiki SPAM JAM took place, and I was fortunate to attend a VIP/Tweetup Event where we got to sample some of  the dishes from this popular event that draws over 25,000+ visitors to Kalakaua Avenue.

Some of the dishes were ones that I could easily see myself eating or have already tried (SPAM Lo Mein; SPAM Nachos); others were a bit more adventurous (SPAM Cupcakes, anyone?).

My favorites included the SPAMac and Cheese Balls, the SPAM Lo Mein, and the SPAM Manapua.  I also tried the MacSPAM Brittle Ice Cream, which was surprisingly good!  My husband actually tried the SPAM Cupcake, and he liked it, noting that it tasted like spice cake.

The creativity of the restaurants who participated in this year's event was impressive, and I'm already looking forward to next year's event!
