Breakfast in Waikiki at Aloha Kitchen

During our Waikiki staycation, I made sure to make reservations at Aloha Kitchen, a popular breakfast spot known for their Soufflé Pancakes.

The soufflé pancakes looked almost too pretty to eat! It was so hard to choose amongst the different varieties, but ultimately we let two of my kids choose, and we ended up with the Coconut Soufflé Pancake - topped with coconut cream and macadamia nuts, and the Banana Soufflé Pancake - topped with bananas, strawberries, and chocolate.

They were so yummy and dessert-like.  They are nicely-sized, and because they are so light and fluffy, it's hard not to over-indulge and eat an entire souffle by yourself.  My favorite of the two soufflé pancakes we ordered was the Coconut Soufflé.  It had just the right amount of sweetness, and the macadamia nuts offered a crunch that contrasted nicely with the soft soufflé.

Although I loved the soufflé pancakes and would definitely order them again, I had to have something savory (e.g. bacon) for breakfast, so I ordered the Da Kine Omelette. You can add a variety of fillings for an additional charge, and I chose bacon, mushrooms, and cheese.

Service was great, and they offer a kama`aina discount!

While there the restaurant was steadily busy, so be sure to make reservations so you won't need to wait for a table.
