Banana Boats Recipe

Lately I've been too lazy to bake, so for dessert one evening I decided to make Banana Boats.

This is actually a "campfire" recipe, which can easily be made at home in the oven.

All you do is take the bananas, wrap the outsides with foil, and slice them down in the middle, still in the peel.

You then stuff it with all kinds of goodies.  I used chocolate chips and butterscotch chips, and then topped it off with some marshmallows, but you could use all sorts of things - peanut butter, flaked coconut, Nutella, etc.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, and if you added marshmallows like I did, simply broil for a few minutes until golden brown (watch carefully, because the marshmallows will burn quickly!).

I took the bananas out of the peels just to take this photo and drizzle chocolate sauce over, but it's best (and a lot more fun) to eat everything straight out of the peel.

If I ever take the kids camping, I will definitely make these for dessert!
