Visit Seattle: Eat the XiaoLongBao at Din Tai Fung



I recently took a three night trip to Seattle and one of the things I HAD to do was eat the famous xiaolongbao (pork soup dumplings) at Din Tai Fung.  My friends knew that it was a must for me so they didn't try to talk me out of the hour and half wait.  Yep, they're pretty awesome!  When we finally got seated it was about 9:30pm and super packed, but our waitress was still friendly and energetic.  

They offer three types of xiaolongbao or xlb:  pork, pork and crab, and truffle.  We decided to get one of each of the pork and pork and crab.  Since it was our first time, we decided against the truffle which comes with a hefty price tag of $25 for 5 dumplings.  The others come 10 to an order.  The xlb were so remarkable that they were gone in no time and we had to order some more!  I'd recommend skipping the pork and crab and just sticking with the original pork.  My goodness, it was sooooo good!  Perfect little bites of pork in hot soup that burst inside your mouth.  Makes me wish we had one in Hawaii! 





We also ordered an assortment of noodle dishes, dumplings, and buns.  I had the braised beef noodles which was excellent.  Almost as good as my mom's home cooked beef noodle soup.  They also offer a great drink selection including alcoholic drinks and even boba drinks.  In addition to offering Taiwanese style shave ice, they also have specially made Molly Moon's ice cream flavors on their menu such as black sesame. Yum!   

I'm so happy I was finally able to eat here.  Most definitely my favorite meal in Seattle!  Din Tai Fung has a Seattle location as well as one in Bellevue.
