If your idea of paradise includes all of the above, then a stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa is a must.

The luxurious resort spans 50 acres with over 600 rooms, a golf course, award-winning dining, acres of pools, a kids club, and an acclaimed spa, offering guests a place to both relax and play.

As soon as I entered the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa I was just enthralled by the grandeur.

After a pleasant check-in experience, the bell attendant led us to our Deluxe Ocean View 2 Queen Beds Room (which was quite a walk from the lobby - the resort is huge!), where we could see the deep ocean blues and hear the crashing waves of Shipwreck's Beach.

The room was spacious, complete with super comfortable Hyatt Grand Beds®, a mini fridge, coffee maker, a large bathroom with a double sink vanity, and a TOTO toilet.

After settling in, the pool beckoned.  We didn't do any of the sightseeing, shopping, or dining that I had on my itinerary that afternoon, and instead we headed down to the pools.

The pools are incredible!

The pools are simply incredible (you can read more about them here), and every single day we spent hours there.

Our family does love the beach, and the resort fronts Shipwreck's Beach, but dangerous conditions prevented us from spending time there, which was totally fine, because my kids really didn't want to leave the pool anyway.

Even though we spent a majority of our time at the pools, we made sure to enjoy as much of the resort as we could.

The grounds of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa are just gorgeous.  Beautifully manicured lawns and lush gardens, with colorful flowers and exotic plants, surround the resort.

There is also a Nene Goose habitat, koi ponds, and numerous waterfalls.

And all throughout the grounds you'll find many seating areas - on the beach, on the lawn - so you and your loved ones can take a moment to enjoy the Kauai beauty that envelops you.

There are several dining options on property (we dined at the Ilima Terrace and Tidepools), as well as a variety of retailers, and several activities for guests to participate in.

The Grand Hyatt Kauai is also within driving distance to numerous other restaurants and stores, but you really don't need to leave the property.  The pools, beach, shopping, dining, spa, and activities can keep guests busy for days!

A daily resort fee (currently $25+tax daily) includes self-parking, bottled water, access to the Anara Spa Fitness Center, a reusable logo tote bag, and more!

During our stay we did have some issues with our air conditioning, but the resort's engineer was so thoughtful and friendly, and he eventually resolved the issue.  So many employees at the Grand Hyatt Kauai exuded the same aloha spirit.
