Visit Kauai: Lappert's Hawaii

Every trip our family seeks out an ice cream shop for what has become a travel tradition.  During our trip to Kauai, a visit to Lappert's Hawaii was a must.  After all, Lappert's was founded right on the island of Kauai, in Hanapepe.

We visited the location in the Shops at Kukui`ula, which is open from 6am to 10pm.  This meant an ice cream run could be made early in the morning or late at night.

Well, most people who visit the Kukui`ula location early in the morning go for the coffee and pastries, but when we visited at 8:30am, we went straight for the ice cream.

I had to have the Kauai Pie - Kona coffee ice cream, chocolate fudge, coconut flakes, macadamia nuts and vanilla cake crunch - so delicious!

It's always a treat to get ice cream, and indulging in some right after breakfast was a first for us, but I guess there's never really a bad time for ice cream!
