Most places had either closed by 3pm, or they did not open on Sundays.
After doing more research, and also asking the front desk employee at our hotel for recommendations, we decided upon East Shore Smoke House.
Black Bean Soup |
Montana Buffalo Burger |
Kids Burger and Fries |
Kids Grilled Cheese and Fries |
Kids Pasta with Butter & Parmesan |
Lemon Huckleberry Cheesecake |
The smokiness of the pork really shined through, and combined with the beans, made for a very hearty soup.
My husband loved his Buffalo Burger, which consisted of ½ pound of grass fed Buffalo, Cheddar, Swiss and Jack Cheeses, all served on a Ciabatta Roll and accompanied by Beer-Battered Fries (the Fries were amazing!).
Kids meals are reasonably-priced, but do not come with drinks or dessert.
Since we were in Montana, where huckleberries are in almost everything, we opted for the Lemon Huckleberry Cheesecake for dessert.
Although
I prefer dense cheesecakes, this cheesecake was light, yet delicious -
a nice combination of sweetness from the huckleberries and tartness
from the lemon.
This homey little restaurant was pretty crowded, and although our server was very pleasant and friendly, it took a very, very long time for our food to
get to the table - 45 minutes! It was like that for the other guests as well. The slow service may have been due to the fact there was a large party, but whatever the case may have been, we wished our server would have at least acknowledged the lengthy wait time or apologized for it. Once she took our order we did not see her again until 40 minutes later, when she put condiments on our table.
Despite the slow service, we really enjoyed the food, and the Black Bean Soup was one of the best soups I've had in a while!
