Visit Spokane: Red Lion Hotel at the Park

Spokane was never really on my radar when it came to travel, but after working several times with Red Lion Hotels Corporation, which is headquartered in Spokane, I knew a visit was in order.

After overnighting in Seattle, our family drove almost three hundred miles to the 400-room Red Lion Hotel at the Park, a stop during our road trip through the Pacific Northwest.

We arrived exhausted, but the bright and inviting atrium lobby immediately rejuvenated me.

I experienced a quick & friendly check-in, and we made our way to a Premium Two Queen Beds Room.  Upon entering our room, I was surprised and impressed with the warm welcome - the colorful lei, palm tree decorations, and basket of Washington-made goodies were such a thoughtful gesture (my kids loved the lei so much they wore them for the rest of the night as we explored the area and went to dinner).

The room included all that we needed for a comfortable two-night stay - plush pillowtop beds, a 42-inch TV, desk and chair, refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave.

I thought it was great that the hotel offers Cascadia Soapery products - bath and facial soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and body wash (I love it when a hotel provides body wash since I never use soap anymore!).

The balcony overlooked the beautiful Spokane River, and offered a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Pretty view!
Although the weather was gorgeous while we were in Spokane, it was still a tad bit chilly for our warm-weather bones to take a dip in the outdoor heated pool, which was equipped with a waterslide and waterfall!  We will definitely have to make another visit during warm weather - I know my kids will not want to leave the pool (our entire stay they kept begging to go to the pool)!

Red Lion Hotel at the Park also offers an indoor heated pool, as well as a number of other complimentary services and amenities, such as a Fitness Center, Wi-Fi, airport and Downtown shuttle service, bike rentals, and more!

Complimentary bike rentals - perfect for exploring Riverfront Park!
What I loved the most about our stay at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park was the convenient location.

Being adjacent to Riverfront Park meant we could easily explore the park and all its natural and historical beauty.  It was also a very easy walk to get to Downtown Spokane to shop and dine, and just a short drive away are many different attractions.

However, you really don't need to go far for some great eats, as the Red Lion Hotel at the Park's The Dam Bar & Grill serves up fantastic food (you can read my review here), and the Atrium Cafe offers a reasonably-priced, satisfying breakfast buffet (you can read my review here).

It's very exciting that soon the hotel will be undergoing a major renovation as part of a conversion to Hotel RL, where features such as high-tech upgrades, evening cocktails, and "The Steps" - a meeting/gathering place in the lobby, will enhance guests' experiences.

Red Lion Hotel at the Park was the ideal place to stay during our first visit to Spokane.  The great service, warm welcome, convenient location, and numerous amenities and services all made for a fantastic stay.
