Celebrate the Holidays at Alan Wong's

L-R: an array of cocktails; chopped ahi sashimi and avocado salsa stack; roasted beet salad; pork and shrimp hash dumplings; cheese platter; caesar salad; goat cheese salad; seafood cakes; poki-pines (won ton wrapped ahi poke balls).

The popular Alan Wong's restaurant held a media tasting lunch yesterday that I was lucky enough to attend.  Pictures of the beautifully plated dishes most likely flooded your Instagram feed.  But, if you've never dined at the restaurant or aren't already following @alanwongs, your eyes are in for a treat.

My favorite dish is the ginger crusted onaga, but a taste of the shrimp and clams linguine had my tastebuds begging for more!  The five spice kurobuta marinated pork loin was equally tantalizing and now I know I'm going to have a hard decision next time I dine at Alan Wong's.

L-R: ginger crusted onaga; shrimp and clams linguine; pan steamed opakapaka; twice cooked short rib; and five spice kurobuta marinated pork loin.

The desserts are equally gorgeous!  The signature "The Coconut" (haupia sorbet in the chocolate shell) is not only picture perfect, but an amazing desseert.  My other favorite was the Hawaiian Crown Sweet Gold Pineapple "Shave Ice" with the yummiest vanilla panna cotta and coconut tapioca topped with shaved pineapple!

L-R: the coconut; pineapple shave ice; strawberry cheesecake; banana cream pie; and hanaoka lilikoi semifreddo.

Make your holiday season extra special by dining at Alan Wong's!  New holiday menus are available for December 24 and 25.
