Artizen by MW Restaurant

I am a huge fan of MW Restaurant so I was very excited to lunch at their new restaurant Artizen.  At one of the MW Restaurant's afternoon tea that featured Artizen menu items, Michelle Karr-Ueoka spoke to my table about the new eatery, but all I heard was how she would be making all the bread for the sandwiches.  Bread.  So yummy.  But being located in downtown in the Hawaii State Art Museum didn't make getting there sound so easy.  Turns out, it totally was.  Just park at Alii Place and use the cross walks to get across the street.

Artizen opens at 10:30am so I recommend getting there by 11am or at least before the lunch crowd at 11:30am.  It was almost completely empty at 11am.  But even with it being so empty, it still took some time to get our food.  They do have some grab and go items if you are short on time.  I ordered the mixed plate sandwich (kalbi, friend chicken, spicy korean pork, taegu watercress salad on the best potato roll).  It was delicious!  I don't think you can go wrong with that sandwich.  It comes with a kim chee potato salad that was also very good.

My favorite dessert that day was the chocolate peanut butter éclair.  It was nice and rich and really stood out from the rest of the desserts.
Eating here will cost you about $15-$20, but you are getting the same quality food as you would expect at MW Restaurant so it is totally worth it.

Open daily except Sundays from 10:30am to 2:30pm.

Located inside Hawaii State Art Museum

Order your items and seat yourself.

The desserts that day.  Loved the peanut butter eclair.
