Refresh and Hydrate with Kona Deep #RethinkYourWater

Anyone who knows me well knows my drink of choice is water.  Whether at home, at the beach, or at a restaurant, I'm always sipping on a glass or bottle of water (yes, on a rare occasion I may have a special cocktail, but water is truly my beverage of choice).

Therefore, I couldn't wait to try Kona Deep, a new brand of water sourced from deep in the ocean right off of Kona!

On a recent hiking adventure, I packed several bottles of Kona Deep.  Midway trough the hike everyone started to get thirsty, and we all sipped on bottles of Kona Deep.

The water was crisp, clean, and refreshing, and I love that there is absolutely nothing added to Kona Deep. In each bottle of Kona Deep all you'll find is water sourced from 3000 feet below the ocean's surface off the Kona coast, with naturally-occurring electrolytes.

Nothing else.

And so what's the big deal about electrolytes? Well, a new study underway at the University of Arizona seeks to evaluate the impact of post-exercise hydration with deep ocean mineral water on exercise performance, rehydration and recovery, and interim results support the fact that electrolytes are important for hydration and body balance.

I also love the fact that Kona Deep is bottled right here in Hawaii, and it's pretty incredible when you think about where the water originated water from.

Over 1000 years ago, melted glacial water from Greenland sank to the ocean floor and created a current that flows to this very day. The water in this current collects electrolytes and other minerals as it travels along the ocean floor, resulting in pure, refreshing, hydrating water.

Luckily, you don't have to travel to the depths of the ocean to try this water.

Kona Deep® can be found at a variety of local retailers (e.g. Foodland, Safeway, KTA, Minit Stop, Down to Earth, and military exchanges like AAFES). Kona Deep is available in 500mL and 1L bottles. Consumers can also purchase 12 and 24-bottle cases of Kona Deep in store or online at www.amazon.com. Kona Deep will soon be available in other mainland U.S. markets in 2016.
