Winter Fun at Wet'n'Wild Hawaii

Every time my family goes to Kapolei, we drive past Wet'n'Wild Hawaii, and each time we pass this 29-acre water park and all of its colorful rides and attractions, my kids keep asking to visit.

So finally, for the first time ever, we made a visit to Wet'n'Wild Hawaii.

It was a warm winter December day when we arrived at Wet'n'Wild Hawaii.

We found a shaded bench near the Keiki Kove, and my kids didn't hesitate for a second to get into the water!

My littlest spent the most time at the Keiki Kove.  There he played under a mushroom water shower, slid down mini-slides, and lounged in the water.

Another favorite spot for all of my kids was the Water World Kids Playground.

There were so many fun and interactive kids elements - a lily pad and log walk, several slides, water cannons, and more!

My oldest two kids really enjoyed the Island Racers.  They had a lot of fun challenging each other to see who'd win the 240 foot race down to the end of the slide.

Other faves included the Raging River, in which families get a white water rafting experience down a 600-foot slide with sharp turns and steep drops, the Surf Sliders with numerous twists and turns, and the Kapolei Kooler lazy river.

Other attractions at Wet'n'Wild Hawaii included Da' Flowrider, where guests can bodyboard or surf a continuous 40-foot wave, the Hawaiian Waters Wave Pool, where simulated waves allow guests to tube or body surf, the Shaka, which has a 36-foot drop at a 70-degree angle, the Waianae Coasters, and the Flyin' Hawaiian.

Unfortunately that day a couple of rides, the Big Kahuna and Tornado, were closed, but the kids still had plenty of fun on the rides that were open.

Midway through the day we started to get hungry, so we stopped at Windjammer Cafe to pick up some munchies.

Although the line at the cafe was very long (only one window open), the waits to go down rides were not too long, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect.

Cabanas are available for rent, but there were plenty of shaded lounge chairs and benches around the Keiki Kove, Water World, and Hawaiian Waters Wave Pool.

Lockers are also available for rent for your belongings.

You can bring your own life jackets, but if you forget them you can find them for free to use at several locations at Wet'n'Wild Hawaii, and they are also available at the Davey Jones Locker Desk for a $20 deposit which is refunded upon return of the life jacket.

Inner tube use is free, but if lines are very long for the tubes, you have the option of renting them as well.

There are many lifeguards throughout Wet'n'Wild Hawaii, and it seemed like they did a really great job of monitoring the rides and ensuring the safety of the guests.  I'd hear them whistle on occasion when kids were going where they weren't supposed to or doing things not allowed.

We all had a fab time at Wet'n'Wild Hawaii, and it was so much fun to slide, swim, and splash at the various attractions.

Wet'n'Wild Hawaii is a perfect place for family fun anytime of year!
