One Bowl Apple Crisp Recipe

It's always good to have a go-to dessert recipe in your arsenal, for those times when you have to come up with a dessert at the last minute.  Sure you could head down to the nearest supermarket to pick up something frozen or already-made in the bakery section, but that won't impress your recipient(s) as much as something that you made at home.

This apple crisp recipe will knock your socks off for two reasons - it can be made in ONE BOWL, and you only need FOUR ingredients: butter, flour, sugar, and apple pie filling.

After preheating your oven to 350 degrees, line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper, and combine the following with your hands (please wash them first!): 1 1/2 blocks of butter, 2 cups of flour, and 1/2 cup + 2 TBSP of sugar.  Mix well until you reach this consistency:

Put about 1/2 of the mixture into your baking pan and press with your fingertips to form the crust.  Then add one can of apple pie filing into your crust and spread evenly.  Then sprinkle the remaining mixture on top:

Bake at 350 degrees for one hour, or until the top starts to brown.  That's it! Serve by itself, or ala mode with your favorite brand of vanilla ice cream.
