Our family recently had dinner at Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Waikiki.

We started off with the Shrimp Dynamite - tempura shrimp tossed in a delightful garlic masago aioli and drizzled with an unagi glaze. I don't eat a lot of shrimp, but this dish was fantastic! Everyone in our family enjoyed it.

I ordered the Kukui Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi (demi size) for my dinner.  Atop a bed of mashed potatoes, greens, and mushrooms, the mahi mahi was tender and full of flavor.

The Ahi dish was servied with furikake rice cake and a ginger chili lime butter.  I tasted the shrimp cake, and it did indeed taste award-worthy.

My husband and I thought the kids pasta meal was small compared to the kids chicken strips and kids sushi meal (which included 2 pieces each of oshinko maki, kappa maki, kampyo maki; ebi sashimi, tamago, edamame, and a furikake musubi), but it's great that the meals come with a drink and dessert.

For dessert we opted for the Tempura Fried Macadamia Nut Ice Cream.  I've had similar dishes in other restaurants, but I really liked this dessert the best of all that I've tried.  Vanilla ice cream was wrapped in pound cake, then macadamia nuts, and then fried.  It sure was delicious!

What's great about Sansei is that they offer a 25% off Early Bird Special before 6pm (some exclusions apply)! 

Service was fantastic throughout the evening - our server even made sure we put in our dessert order before 6pm so we could take advantage of the discount.

Views are gorgeous, and we really had a wonderful dinner at Sansei!
