Visit Vancouver: Earnest Ice Cream

When I went to Vancouver two years ago, Earnest Ice Cream was on my list of places to go. Unfortunately, we never made it to Earnest on that trip, and because we didn't have a car on our recent visit, I wasn't planning on trying to go to Earnest.  But after fellow IGer @greatnorthernpineapple made mention of it, I took it as a sign that I needed to go!

On our last day in Vancouver, a steady rain (and our forgetfulness to borrow our hotel's umbrella's) did not deter us from taking the SkyTrain to the Olympic Village station, and making the walk to Earnest's.

We arrived 10 minutes before it opened, so we patiently waited outside, under cover, in the chilly weather, just so I could finally try Earnest's.

Once inside, we perused a variety of flavors on the wall (my kids were bummed to not see a display of ice creams like in other shops, since often times they like to see what the flavors look like).

Butter Pecan
Caramel Popcorn Sundae

Cookies + Cream
Salted Caramel
I immediately knew what I wanted - Salted Caramel.  A perennial favorite at Earnest's, the sweet and salty ice cream was rich and creamy - simply delicious!

Cookies + Cream is made with organic, non-GMO cookies, and the Butter Pecan consisted of roasted pecans in a Bourbon vanilla ice cream.

One of my sons decided to get the Caramel Popcorn Sundae simply because he wanted to eat popcorn with ice cream.

Kiddie scoops are available, which were perfect for my kiddos, and a single scoop of ice cream was actually plenty.

I'm so glad I finally got to try Earnest Ice Cream.

It was worth the wait - and the long walk in the rain!
