The Angry Birds Movie Review

I didn't know what to expect from The Angry Birds Movie, but I knew that my 5 year old would love it.  He's a big fan of the mobile game app and even enjoyed the Angry Birds Toons.  Because there was no dialogue from the toon series, I was a littke skeptical about the movie.  Thankfully, Sony's movie version features the voices of Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) and Josh Gad (Olaf from Frozen).

In the 3D animated comedy, you'll finally find out why the birds are so angry.  The movie begins on an island populated with mostly happy (but flightless) birds.  It's there where we meet Red, a bird with a temper problem, sent to anger management class where he meets other outsiders and eventual friends, Speedy and Bomb.  The action starts when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies and the trio seek out the legendary Mighty Eagle for help.

The movie is very silly with the occasional gross humor that will make moms like me let out a verbal "Ewww!" but will be enjoyed by the kids and send them into fits of giggles.  The runtine is 1 hour and 35 minutes and rated PG for rude humor and action.

Opens in theatres on May 20th!

Thank you to our sponsors for the complimentary movie tickets!
