Haleiwa Beach House

I was bummed when I heard the news a while ago that Jameson's by the Sea in Haleiwa was closing down.  It was one of my favorite restaurants, offering a lovely view, delicious food, and great service, and we'd often go there for special occasions.

But when I heard that Haleiwa Beach House would open up in its place, I was very excited. I've been following them on Instagram throughout the building process and the soft opening, and on Monday night we finally had a chance to dine there.

Quick Seared Ahi
Coconut Lemongrass Infused Rice
I ordered the Mahi Mahi, which was absolutely delicious.  It was served with garlic ginger long beans and a divine lemon caper brown butter sauce that really made the dish shine.  The fish was perfectly cooked and the entire dish was incredible.  The fish was served with a coconut lemongrass infused rice.

My husband ordered the Ahi, which was coated in furikake and a spice blend, and served with an aji amarillo aioli.  He loved the fish, but he didn't really care for the aioli.  His dish was served with white rice, which I ended up eating, since the rice that came with my dish had too strong of a coconut flavor.

Kids meals are $8 each, and come with a side.  My kids ate everything up (and I loved the fries!).

Because we were celebrating a special occasion, we were offered a complimentary dessert, and we also ordered two other desserts, since one of my sons really wanted the Chocolate Cake, and my two other sons wanted the Doughnuts (and I really wanted to try the doughnuts!).

Doughnuts
My favorite of the desserts was the Lilikoi Cheesecake.  Luscious, dense cheesecake topped a macadamia nut and graham cracker crust, and was completed with pickled strawberries and a lilikoi sauce.  The balance of tartness and sweetness was perfect!

The Doughnuts are housemade and fried fresh to order.  They are dipped in a buttermilk glaze, and topped with fruity pebble crunch.  They were crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside.  The bite-size doughnuts were delicious "as is," but with the crunchy cereal topping - they were fantastic!

The Chocolate Cake was very moist and very yummy.

The views are gorgeous, and fire pits downstairs and upstairs add to the ambiance.

Service was great, the food was fantastic, and I know Haleiwa Beach House will be a spot we return to again and again, no matter the occasion.
