We weren't planning on going to the new theater for a while, since I've heard about the crazy lines and long search for parking, but my kids really wanted to see Captain America: Civil War, and Regal Kapolei Commons offers reserved seating, which was the deciding factor on which theater to go to. I decided to buy tickets online for a matinee showing via Fandango the morning of, since I was worried about long lines or packed theaters because it was opening weekend of the movie.
When the theaters first opened, a friend posted on social media about 1-hour wait times for the concession, so as soon as we arrived we went straight for the concession line.
The line did move pretty slowly, but fortunately the employee let us refill our large popcorn without us having to go back in the very, very long concession line (all we had to do was empty our popcorn into a box).
In addition to the typical movie munchies of nachos, candies, and pizzas, the theater also offers specialty burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and even malasadas bites.
The seats are super comfy, and there is plenty of room between rows so you can recline and stretch out.
It does cost a few dollars more to go to Regal Kapolei Commons 12 than other other theaters (and if you buy tickets online there is a Convenience Fee), but we really loved the theater experience, and we can't wait to watch another movie there!
