Ruscello

Within the past few weeks I've been to Ruscello at Nordstrom Ala Moana Center twice - once with my family, and another time with Nat and my youngest son.

The first time I went on a Sunday with our family of 5, and we went as soon as it opened since on OpenTable reservations for more than 4 were not accepted.  It was very busy, so luckily we got there early!

I had the Chicken Club, which was full of thick cut bacon, avocado, tomato, greens, and a tasty mustard aioli.  It was a very delicious club sandwich.

My husband ordered the Tuscan Roasted Salmon, which was complemented by a colorful array of roasted vegetables.

Kids meals come with a side of fruit and a drink (the menu also says served with raisins, but neither visit did we get raisins - which is okay since my kids don't care for raisins), and are pretty reasonable at under $7.

The service was fantastic, but unfortunately, on my most recent visit with Nat, I thought our server was friendly, but the level of service was not as great as my first visit.

My lunch, however, was really good.  We both ordered the Ginger Panko Crusted Chicken Salad.

We both finished off the salads, which were full of delicious pieces of crispy chicken, bacon, corn, avocado, and egg (Nat requested no egg on hers, but there was egg in her salad).  The Honey Dijon Dressing was perfect for the salad.

For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Paradise Cake.

The menu says "Moist chocolate cake," but I thought it was dry, and the caramel sauce it was sitting in was way too sweet.  It was still good by itself, but I thought Nat's Creme Brulee was much better.

The views are pretty despite the construction going on nearby (which I cropped out below).

Overall, although the service was inconsistent between the two visits, the food was great on both occasions, and I can't wait to go back and try out more menu items!
