Visit Whistler: The Keg Steakhouse + Bar

I randomly made reservations for The Keg Steakhouse + Bar for our first dinner at Whistler, based on the fact that they have a kids' menu and reservations could be made via OpenTable.

Fortunately we did make reservations ahead of time as the wait when we arrived for those who didn't have reservations was 45 minutes.

Complimentary Bread

Kids Keg Mini Burgers with Cheese

Kids Chicken Strips

Kids Shaved Prime Rib Sliders

French Onion Soup

Tuna Tacos

Kids Ice Cream
Mini Mango Brulee

I was not very hungry, so I ordered the French Onion Soup for dinner. A beef broth infused with Sherry, loaded with Spanish Onions, and topped with Swiss and Parmesan was fantastic!

My husband ordered the tuna tacos - ahi atop a bed of cabbage slaw and cilantro, and served with a jalapeno maple aioli.

Each of the kids meals we ordered was $11 and includes a drink and ice cream for dessert.

For my dessert, I opted for the mini mango brulee.  The mini size was perfect, and I'm not usually a creme brulee fan, but this dessert had a pleasant mango flavor, and I loved the caramelized crust!

All of the food was great, but prior to us getting our food, another server ended up spilling a soft drink all over me.  My pants & shirt, purse, jacket, and my son's jacket (which was next to me) was soaked.

The server felt terrible and continuously apologized.  Accidents happen! When we got the check we noticed they gave a 20% discount on my soup.  I wasn't expecting anything from the incident (although a few people said I should've gotten a free meal), but the discount was a nice gesture, and I'm just glad the server didn't spill alcohol or hot soup on me!

Service was great, but slowed down once we got our food.

Despite that, and the spilled soft drink incident, we still had a nice, delicious meal.
