Summer is in full swing, which means it's time to bring out the pool/beach toys and swim gear!
A must-have in your arsenal of swim gear are swim diapers. Why? Well, kids, especially the ones that are not fully potty trained, will have accidents, and I'm talking about the "solid" accidents (POOP). Swim diapers are designed to contain the POOP like regular diapers, but won't poof up in the water like regular diapers. Furthermore, for health reasons, most if not all pools require swim diapers if your child is not fully potty-trained.
As with regular diapers, swim diapers come in two types - disposables and reusables. I've always used disposable swim diapers, because that's all that I was familiar with. But recently I was invited to try reusable swim diapers by Bumkins, and I will never go back to disposable swim diapers again.
Bumkins swim diapers come in 3 sizes and 14 different patterns. They even have a few licensed patterns by DC Comics, like the ones you see above. These will certainly get your toddlers amp-ed to wear their swim diapers.

Bumkin swim diapers are:
- washable
- reusable
- come with adjustable side snaps to ensure a snug fit and makes it easy to put on/take off
- made with elastic bands on the waist and legs to keep your toddler comfortable while keeping the "solids" in the diaper
- compliant with most swimming pools or programs that require reusable diapers
My boys are at the age where they are particular on what they wear, and also not always enthusiastic about trying new things, so I was concerned that they would not want to try out these swim diapers, but Brother D was cooperative, and once he put them on, he was actually proud to wear them.
Taking off these swim diapers is even easier than putting them on - simply unsnap each side and you're done.
Bumkin Swim Diapers retail for $12.95 and can be purchased on the Bumkin website at http://www.bumkins.com/
See you in the water!
