Haleiwa Beach House Revisited

Even though I dined at Haleiwa Beach House a couple of months ago, Nadia wanted to give the place a try, so I returned a couple of weeks later with her.

We had 6:30pm reservations, and the parking lot was packed - we had to park quite far (and it was a bit scary walking back to the car in the dark).

We were immediately seated, and eventually put in our orders while we admired (and took lots of photos of) the view.

Doughnuts
I ordered the House Made Fettucine, which was tossed with mushrooms, asparagus, cipollini, and arugula in a white wine butter sauce, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar.  It was so delicious, especially covered in all of that cipollini.  I really enjoyed the contrast of all the textures, and the savoriness of the sauce was fantastic.  I ate the entire thing!

Nadia had the Monchong, which she enjoyed.  The fish was served with a ginger scallion beurre blanc sauce and coconut lemongrass infused rice.

For dessert I had the Ice Cream (which is made by Scoop of Paradise).  It was so good!  It was a huge serving - I could only finish half.

Nadia ordered the Doughnuts (which is the real reason I believe she wanted to dine at Haleiwa Beach House - she loves her doughnuts)!

Although our server was great, it took awfully long to get our food.

It took almost an hour from the time we were seated until we got our entrees (7:23pm according to the time stamp on my phone).

And then another hour later we finally got our dessert (time stamp was 8:30pm).

I did, however, appreciate how our server shook our hands at the end of our meal, thanking us for dining with them (I noticed he did that with other customers, but I thought they were VIPs).

Recently the restaurant has been hit with bad news (closure, fine, etc.), but hopefully they get all the issues resolved - it really is a great restaurant on the North Shore.
