Life is Better With Sprinkles!

Croissant with sprinkles!

I never liked eating sprinkles much before, but once I discovered how easy they can cover up your cupcake frosting un-talents, I was a fan.

Then I saw a video of a New York bakery's birthday cake croissants that added sprinkles to the butter they baked into the dough.  I decided to make my own confetti butter and use it in croissants as well as topping pancakes, toast, and more!

As I wasn't prepared to take on the daunting task of making croissants from scratch, I decided  to experiment a little with my confetti butter and Pillsbury's croissant dough.  Because I was adding more butter to the dough, the croissant wasn't light and flaky as it should be.

My next experiment was to add just the sprinkles to the dough.  It baked nicely and the croissant remained flakey with an added sweetness to it.  My kids loved it which has inspired me to think more out of the box when I am whipping something up in the kitchen.  I hope it inspires you too!
