I love ice cream.
I even have an ice cream maker, and I enjoy making my own ice cream, but it does take a little effort. I have to remember to freeze the freezer bowl ahead of time, and I also need to make sure I have cream.
But thanks to The Curious Creamery, making ice cream at home is a cinch - no ice cream machine needed!
Simply add your liquid (milk, water, etc.) to The Curious Creamery's container, then add the ice cream mix. You whisk everything together, add any extracts, freeze it for an hour, add mix-ins (candies, cookies, etc.), and freeze until hardened.
I decided to play it somewhat safe for my first batch. I simply used rice milk as my liquid, and after whisking it together with the ice cream mix, I added 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. I froze the mixture for an hour before adding in chopped Tim Tams.
The Tim Tams did not settle into the middle - when I scooped out the ice cream the Tim Tams were mostly around the perimeter, so next time I know to stir it maybe after another hour or so in the freezer so the mix-ins are more evenly distributed.
I was very impressed with the end result. The ice cream was rich and creamy, and so yummy! It's hard to go wrong with vanilla ice cream and crushed cookies - I know that wasn't a very adventurous flavor, but it was so delicious. I'd definitely make it again!
The Curious Creamery makes it super easy to make your own specialty ice creams. I'm very eager to try The Curious Creamery's Ice Cream Cake Mixes!

The Curious Creamery is both fun and delicious. It would be great for a birthday party or playdate activity! Simply leave out a bunch of liquids (milk, fruit juice, water) and mix-ins (gummies, fruits, chocolate chips, etc.), and the kiddos can create whatever their hearts desire! They can eat their creations at the end of the party, or take them home to eat. Adults would have fun too - simply use rum, tequila, or other boozy options for grown-up only treats!

My kids are excited to make their own flavors of ice cream, so stay tuned to see what kinds of creative concoctions they come up with!
The Curious Creamery can be found in retailers nationwide, and locally at Times Supermarket.
This is so cool!!

ReplyDeleteOh I make no-churn ice cream. My favorite flavors for no churn ice cream is cake batter and banana pudding ice cream. I have an ice cream maker also and use it quite a bit since moving to the Island. Thanks for telling us about this place. It's a great place to visit when family comes from the mainland.
