Whenever we had out-of-town VIPs fly in to Oahu for my former employer (which was very often), we'd always make arrangements for them to stay at the
Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. I've always wanted to stay there myself, and I will finally get a chance to for my next kama`aina staycation!
Here are the top 10 reasons why I booked a kama`aina staycation at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani:
1. A
Starwood Hawaii property: I am a fan of Starwood Hawaii hotels, as I've stayed at two other properties on previous staycations (
Sheraton Waikiki and
The Royal Hawaiian). Each property offered fabulous service, plentiful dining options, and a wide variety of amenities, and I know Sheraton Princess Kaiulani will not disappoint in any of these areas.
2. Location: The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is located in the heart of Waikiki, within walking distance from the beach, attractions, and shopping centers (including the new International Market Place!).
3. Pool: I'm sure we'll be spending lots and lots of time at the 85,000 gallon salt water pool. My kids will be having fun swimming around, and you'll probably find me lounging under an umbrella or maybe even in a cabana, enjoying fruits and chilled Oshibori!

4. Splash Bar & Bento: Since we will probably be at the pool a lot, it's great that Splash Bar & Bento is close by. I'm looking forward to trying out the Chicken Katsu Sliders. Or maybe the Kim Chee Pork Quesadilla. Or the Kalua Pork Nachos. It's so hard to decide - the menu options all sound so delicious!

5. Pikake Terrace Breakfast Buffet: The Pikake Terrace offers a Breakfast Buffet providing a wide assortment of baked goods, fruits, juices, hot items, and an omelet station. I'm looking forward to filling up on fried rice, bacon, pineapple pancakes, and more bacon!
6. Te Moana Nui - Tales of the Pacific: I watched the Te Moana Nui - Tales of the Pacific show when it was at a different location a little over a year ago, but I'm excited for my husband and kids to watch it - it was a really entertaining show! We'll also get to indulge in a great dinner from Pikake Terrace, and participate in fun activities prior to the show starting!

7. Big Kahuna Beach Service: The Big Kahuna Beach service is included in the resort charge, which provides guests access to beach chairs in a specific spot on the beach, as well as water and fresh fruit served three times daily!
8. Guest Rooms: I'm looking forward to getting a good night's sleep on the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds, and using the exclusive “Shine by Sheraton” bath amenity line!

9. Cultural activities: It's always fun to participate in cultural activities, and the Sheraton Princess Kailuani offers programs the entire family can participate in, such as hula lessons, ukulele lessons, and a pineapple cutting demonstration.

10: Rich in history: The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel is named after Princess Victoria Kaiulani, and is located at the former entrance site of the Ainahau Estate, where the Princess lived. You can read a brief story on her background
