A Visit to the New International Market Place

The highly anticipated opening of the new International Market Place took place late last month, and our family briefly visited while staycationing next door.

With a huge parking garage consisting of 700 parking spaces (1st hour free with $10 minimum purchase validation; second hour $2; third hour $2; standard rates apply after third hour), in addition to valet, the International Market Place offers 75 shops (including Hawaii's first Saks Fifth Avenue) and ten restaurants (you can read my posts on Kona Coffee Purveyors | b.patisserie and Stripsteak Waikiki).

The third floor Grand Lanai is the home to 9 of the 10 restaurants (most have yet to open).

International Market Place offers free Wi-Fi, charging stations, entertainment, photo opps, a plaque tracker game, water features, and so much more!

It was quite crowded the two times we went, and the elevators were always so busy, as packs of people crowded the doors, and unlucky ones had to wait for the second or third available elevator even if they were they first to arrive.

I love that the New International Market Place is within walking distance from many hotels throughout Waikiki, and the inexpensive validated parking is a big plus as well.

We only explored for a little while, but I know we'll be back once more restaurants open.
