Lunch at Burgers and Things

Burgers and Things has been open for a little over a year now, and even though I am a huge fan of hamburgers, I never made it a point to try this place because they don't serve fries. I gotta have fries with my hamburger!

Well, after reading Gem's post and seeing her pics of their tantalizing burgers I couldn't hold out any longer.  I just had to try it for myself.

I met a friend for lunch here on a workday, and at 11am, there were already people waiting in line to order!

After placing our orders with the cashier at the front, we took a seat at the counter ...

and watched the chef work his magic.  Most of the hamburger patties are pre-cooked and stored in a pan full of juice, which helps get the orders out quicker.

Except for the wagyu burger, which is made-to-order in their kitchen next door.

Doesn't it look amazing? Wagyu beef cooked medium rare with sauteed mushrooms and onions, and creamy horseradish.

This was a seriously delicious burger!  Not one to eat if you're on a first date and trying to impress someone. :)  Make sure you grab a bunch of napkins before diving into this burger because you're going to need them!

The teri burger is made with their housemade teriyaki sauce. The flavor is unique for a teriyaki sauce - it's bold and not as sweet.

I would definitely order the "wagyu say" again!

And in case you were wondering whether I missed having fries with my burger, the answer is: NO, not at all! The burgers were so filling and satisfying that I didn't miss having fries with them one bit. And actually, I think a serving of fries would have put me over the edge.

For dessert we split one of their famous campfire cookies. They call it "campfire" cookies because they are filled with gooey marshmallows.  Yum!

If you'd rather get your burgers to-go, they'll pack them for you deconstructed, so that you don't have a soggy mess when it's time to eat.
