Ballet Hawaii's Reimagined The Nutcracker!

Watching Ballet Hawaii's production of The Nutcracker has become a tradition for myself and my daugher.  We look forward to it each Christmas season.  This year, we were treated to a magnificent retelling of The Nutcracker set in the 1858 Kingdom of Hawaii created by renowned choreographer Septime Webre.

You can expect a twist to the traditional holiday performances including the famous Waltz of the Snowflakes, but set high upon the slopes of Mauna Kea.  In the second act, we are entertained by the subjects of the beautiful Sugar Plumeria Fairy.  A definite highlight was when Pele's sister Hi'iaka dances with the handsome Lohiau.  There are rainbow fish, 'I'iwi birds, clown fish and more!  The splendid new set designs and gorgeous costumes are sure to impress as well.

You still have two more chances to celebrate Ballet Hawaii's 40th Anniversary Season with this new Nutcracker and make your holiday season magical!  Get your tickets for Saturday and Sunday performances here.

The production is accompanied by the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, hundreds of local dancers, and feature dancers from major ballet companies from across the United States.

Thank you to Ballet Hawaii for the complimentary tickets!  All opinions are entirely my own.
