Brownie Recipe

If you have cocoa powder on hand, this brownie recipe is for you!  Here's the link to the recipe by Inspired Taste.

You'll need to melt 10T of butter, 1 1/4 cups sugar, and 3/4 cup +2T unsweetened cocoa powder together.  The recipe calls for unsalted butter and adding kosher salt, but I just used salted butter.  I tried to melt in a bowl over a pot of simmering water, but I'm impatient so I ended up microwaving the bowl for 20 seconds and went from there.

Next, mix in 1 tsp vanilla extract, then 2 eggs - one at a time.  Finally mix in 1/2 cup of flour.  You can also add in your choice of nuts at this point.  Bake at 325 degrees for about 25-30 minutes.

Initially I wanted to make s'mores brownies, but in addition to being impatient, I am also lazy so the graham cracker crust wasn't happening.  Instead, I just topped the baked brownies with marshmallows and Hershey kisses and popped into the toaster oven on broiler setting.  Keep a close eye on it because the marshmallows brown fast.

Oh my goodness, the finished product was delicious!  Definitely recommend topping your brownies with chocolate and marshmallows every time!  The brownies are on the bittersweet side (which we like) so the marshmallows were a nice addition.
