Visit Maui: Star Noodle

Star Noodle was recommend by several people, so our family was eager to dine there during a recent trip to Maui.

We walked in at about 4:30pm with no reservations, hoping the wait wouldn't be too long. The place was packed, but fortunately, we only had to wait about 10 minutes before we were able to get seated.

It was really difficult to narrow down our choices from the tantalizing menu options, but based on input from our server, as well as input from the kids, we ended up ordering several plates to enjoy family-style:
Steamed Pork Buns

Garlic Noodles

Look More Funn

Yakitori

Singapore Noodles
The Steamed Pork Buns, - bao buns stuffed with cucumber and thick slices of pork, was good, but I found the pork to be a little too tough. My kids loved this dish, however.

I thought the Garlic Noodles were tasty, but it I was expecting there to be a lot more garlic flavor. I also thought this would be a "safe" dish for my kids - something everyone would enjoy, but all of my kids preferred other dishes!

The Look More Funn was my favorite dish. The large noodles were rolled up and served in a black bean clam sauce, along with choi sum. It was fantastic. A little chili oil gave it a bit of kick.

The Yakitori was very delicious, especially the teriyaki glaze. This was another kids' favorite.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Singapore Noodles. Vermicelli noodles were served with chicken, shrimp, sprouts, and a veggies. It was so flavorful, and the calamansi lime juice gave the dish an added sweetness and tartness.

Service was great, and I loved the variety of dishes, as well as the reasonable prices.
