Moku Kitchen Revisited

Over the weekend, I met @darayoung for dinner at Moku Kitchen. We arrived during Happy Hour (3pm - 5:30pm daily), so we took advantage of the Happy Hour specials (50% off most appetizers, $9 pizzas).
Garlic Truffle Oil Fries

Pork Pot Stickers

Roasted Squash Ravioli

Hamakua Wild Mushroom Pizza
The food did not disappoint. We ordered all of my faves, as well as the Pork Pot Stickers, which I tried for the first time.

Dara kept raving about the fries, which were really addicting. The pot stickers and ravioli were both delish, and the pizza was great.

I thought service was just okay, however. Our server was friendly, but other servers were not. Our food arrived to our table 30 minutes after we ordered, and the servers who dropped off the food didn't smile, or even say "You're welcome" after we thanked them for the food. Dara's drink ticket was also "lost" so it took a while for her just to get a beer!

We were planning on going elsewhere for dessert, but the place we wanted to go to was closed, so we returned to Moku Kitchen for pie and gelato.
Chocolate Mac Nut Cream Pie

Macadamia Nut Gelato
I've said it many times before - I don't care for pies, but I love the pies at Moku Kitchen.

You get three scoops of gelato for $7, and you can choose more than one flavor.

Once again, our server was friendly (a different server), but it took a while just for us to get our check.

The food was fantastic as usual, but the mediocre service left me no desire to visit Moku Kitchen again anytime in the near future, and instead I'll stick with another Handcrafted Restaurant with an almost identical menu - Monkeypod Kitchen.
