Visit Tokyo: Tokyo Tower

During our trip to Tokyo, we visited the iconic 333-meter tall Tokyo Tower.

We decided to visit at night so we could see the twinkling of the city lights.

There are two observatories in the Tokyo Tower - the Main Observatory, which is 150 meters high, and the Special Observatory, which is 250 meters high.

The Special Observatory is currently closed for renovations, but we still had amazing views from the Main Observatory.

Two floors comprise the Main Observatory.  We were greeted with a canopy of artificial sakura in honor of cherry blossom season once we arrived at the Main Observatory.  It was so pretty!

We immediately scrambled to find an open spot at a window to take photos of the beautiful, busy city.

We could see thousands of buildings light up the night sky.  We also had great views of the Tokyo Sky Tree, Giant Sky Wheel in Palette Town, and Rainbow Bridge.

The Main Observatory is comprised of two floors, and 1F, the floor you depart from, is actually a lot less crowded than 2F, the one you arrive on.  On 1F you'll also find several lookdown windows, as well as a cafe and an entertainment stage.

Throughout the tower there were Trick Art photo ops on the floors, as well as two projection shows - Tokyo Tower City Light Fantasia and Future Tokyo Tower.

Lines can get long to purchase a ticket, as well as to get into an elevator, but fortunately there was a very short wait at around 19:00 to get into an elevator.

There are numerous eateries, shops, an aquarium, and even an amusement park in the Tokyo Tower!

Views from the Tokyo Tower are just as beautiful as the view of the Tokyo Tower itself, especially at night, when it is lit up with 180 light bulbs.

It was really neat to see the city from 150 meters high in the Tokyo Tower, and get a closer look at this magnificent landmark!
